A Ramble Through Madison Park, December, 2023

This one goes through Madison Park, a neighborhood at the end of Madison St, Seattle’s only street that is a straight-shot between Lake Washington and Elliott Bay. When the founders of the city were decision-making in the 1850s, Mr Madison had only one demand, that this water-to-water street have no turns, and be named after him. The neighborhood sprang up around the ferry that used to get people between here and Kirkland, a city across the lake and slightly north but the Evergreen Point Bridge put an end to that. Now, it is a bit of an enclave in that if you are down here, it is because you were trying to get here. There is no stop-in-Madison-Park-on-the-way-to… anywhere. It is pretty self-contained and a nice place to live, if you have money, lol. Enjoy!
