Rambling Seattle

Northbound Border to Border, Part 2, April 2024

This one picks up at S Industrial Way in a very industrial (wow!) section of town and heads north (also wow!) on what is pretty much a straight shot into the retail downtown core proper. South of downtown, an area known as Sodo is all built on old landfill from the city’s founding so buildings here cannot be too tall. The ground is all in-fill so in earthquakes it just waves like water. Seattle City Light keeps their fleet and has offices down here as does Republic, Seattle’s major recycler. Plenty of industrial shops and gas stations down here. Once past the stadiums that are the home of the Mariners, Reign, Seahawks and Sounders, we skirt Pioneer Square and get through the financial district into the retail core of the city. Plenty to see on this one! Enjoy!
