A Ramble Through Central Capitol Hill, Part 2, Spring, 2023

This one picks up right at Broadway Ave E where E John St, and E Olive Way meet. This winds through one of Seattle’s densest neighborhoods. The concentration of apartments to single family units is a pretty high ratio here. The main retail strip, Broadway Ave E, was the original home of Seattle’s Pride Parade before it got too big and moved downtown. The demographic has really shifted in the last three decades in that it went from funky and locally cool to really rather dull and quiet. Gentrification happened and the neighborhood is now full of… dense apartment units. There are only a few spots left from it’s heyday. That said, change is inevitable. Enjoy!
