A Ramble Along Route 8, Part 2, Northbound, Spring, 2023

This Ramble continues the northbound direction of the Route 8 as it, funnily enough, goes east/west from Madison Park, through Capitol Hill, into Lower Queen Anne Hill. I really hate this bus route as it is always late. It is also the only direct connection between Capitol Hill and Lower Queen Anne. The Amazon campus, with all its workers use this route a lot going to and from home on Capitol Hill and Lower Queen Anne. This section also runs past one of the busiest, and least coordinated onramps to southbound Interstate 5 in the city. This poor bus has no chance of ever being on time. If you are on Capitol Hill and need to get to Madison Park, you could take an 11, but if you need to get south, you have to wait on I-5 traffic and Amazon workers overloading the bus for no reason whatsoever. Coming back the other way, I have often been at the stop where the Amazon workers get on to go up to Capitol Hill, and beaten the bus by walking those 20 blocks. It’s not even hard to do when the weather is bad and I-5 is full of rush-hour traffic. Well, sit back and enjoy the walk!
