A Ramble Through Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Winter, 2022

This is a Ramble through Queen Anne Hill’s Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Nestled at the north end of the top of Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill, this is a beautiful, peaceful place, and a great place for a contemplative walk. Seattle has a few big cemeteries and they are all quiet and lovely. Lakeview cemetery is Seattle’s famous one due to the celebrities buried there, as well as notable Seattleites. Mt Pleasant, to my knowledge, is considerably less dense in celebrities, but many of the headstones date back some 125 years. It may seem strange to take a walk through a graveyard on New Year’s but with the end of one year, another one begins. I find it poetice, somehow. Enjoy!
