A Ramble Through Central Ballard, Summer, 2022
We still have a smoke problem from the wildfires in the east of the county, hence the orange haze. But this is a trip through one of Seattle’s oldest neighborhoods, Ballard. It was its own city over a century ago but “suffered” some sort of “takeover” by Seattle and some are still bitter, more or less. There is a strong fisherman history and a deep Scandinavian heritage in the area. Lots of Swedish bakeries and plenty of cafes and fisherman themed taverns. Quite the mix. Enjoy!
